Rex Specs Dog Goggles V1 - Hot Granny Smith - Large

REX SPECS GOGGLE® are protective eyewear designed for the active dog. They are stable and secure while allowing for full jaw motion and field of view. All lenses are UVA/UVB protective and assist in the treatment of canine eye conditions such as pannus (Chronic Superficial Keratitis). They protect your dog's eyes from debris, environmental hazards, and harmful sun rays.

Rex Specs dog goggles have been designed and tested to insure they meet the needs of any dog and any adventure. Whether your dog deploys from helicopters, flushes birds, hike hills or simply enjoys sunny afternoon walks - Rex Specs have got your pup covered!

  • All goggles come with 2 lenses, 1 clear and 1 smoke lenses.
  • Interchangeable, impact resistant, and rated UV400 lens (blocking 99/9% of harmful UVA/UVB rays)
  • Spherical polycarbonate lens makes for a comfortable fit and ensure a full field of view.
  • Dynamic strap system keeps googles in place and allows for full range of motion.
  • Frame is fully vented to allow for maximum air flow.
  • Durable foam edge provides a comfortable and secure fit.

  • Lens Selection:

You get two lenses with your Rex Specs including a clear version and a smoked version. Which lens should you choose? All lenses are rated UV400 - blocking 99.9% of UVA and UVB rays. The lenses have the following visual light-blocking properties:

  • Clear - allows 92% of visual light to pass through
  • Smoke - allows 20% of light to pass through familiar with the new piece of gear.
  • How to Choose the Right Size?

    • Muzzle Circumference: Measure the circumference of your dog's muzzle where you expect the goggle to land on their nose - usually around the back of their mouth.

    • Head Circumference: Measure the head circumference where you expect the goggle to land on the forehead - typically an inch or so behind the eyes.

    • Important Sizing Note: The measurements on product picture are the dimensions of the actual product, not of the pet they fit. After measuring your pet, make sure all measurements fit within the following dimensions (with a little room to spare in the chest and neck).

    Fitting Tips:

Adjusting the straps to fit your dog is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY! Proper fit and adjustment will keep the goggle in place and most comfortable for your dog. Adjusting the straps PERFECTLY the first time is unlikely - it will probably take a few tries before you have everything adjusted for the most secure, comfortable, functional fit.

    • Introduce Gear: Be sure the goggle introduction is part of a positive experience! Let your dog inspect them before forcing them onto their face. Clip the buckles a few times so they hear the noise they make - and let them smell them and become familiar with the new piece of gear.

    • Start Slow: Make estimated strap adjustments - remove the lens - and see if your dog will allow you to put them on their nose - use praise or a reward with wanted behavior. Start slowly, keep sessions short, and practice with no lenses a few times. Keep your dog on leash, or within reach so they cannot ‘escape’ and try to remove the goggles.

    • Build Confidence: Use distractions, like rewards and simple commands, to build your dogs tolerance to the goggles and to build their confidence with them on. The goal is to make them understand that the goggles do not inhibit their normal activities!

    • Add Lenses: Once your dog is okay wearing the frames, add the clear lens. After a few sessions and you’re confident your dog is okay with the goggles and clear lenses - add the smoked lenses.
